Where it all begins

A great piece of furniture is a magical thing. Expertise, time, vision are the carpenter's contribution. Nature provides the material. Take walnut. A tree yes but how that tree is processed into lumber is critical to bring the beauty of the wood out. We prefer to use wood from small mills and the best way to make sure we get that wood it to go directly to the source. Here are some images from our latest trip to the midwest where we found great people, beautiful walnut, magnificent spalted maple and, yes, live edge cherry.
